Victor Khanye Local Municipality is strategically located in the Highveld in Mpumalanga province on the border line of Gauteng province, less than 100km from Pretoria, Johannesburg and Emalahleni. The municipality is linked by a major freeway, the N12, that was declared a Maputo Corridor. There is a railway line running through to the inner Mpumalanga province and to Mozambique. The municipality is regarded as a gateway to inner Mpumalanga province.

Increased Vklm Traffic Officers Visibility yield positive results

The municipality boosted its traffic department staff with 40 recruits in July 2019 on a learnership programme. The aim was to increase human capacity in the department by adding more numbers to ensure total visibility and safety for motorists travelling on the roads within the municipality.

Different operations have been carried out where thorough search is done and discoveries of drugs and illegal weapons are made.

The traffic department has also been resourceful in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic where they made it their responsibility to ensure compliance on the lockdown regulations.

PUBLIC NOTICE (FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR REGISTRATION)

Notice is hereby given that the process of applications for financial assistance for needy learners and students to register at tertiary institution for 2021 academic year is now open. N.B. The assistance is only for registration purposes and not a bursary scheme. Applications will be treated on a first come first serve basis.


For the application to be considered, the following documents are required:

  • Letter of acceptance from a tertiary institution
  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of income for employed parents & affidavit for unemployed parents
  • Latest results or statements of results for the 2020 grade 12 learners
  • Certified ID copy of the learner
  • Application letter from applicants. Please note that hand written letters will be accepted.

Closing date for the application: 04 March 2021

Applications can be hand delivered to the Office of the Executive Mayor.
