Reason for the Report:
To report back on the IT support and Business administration leanership programmes.
Background:
The Acting youth manager and Human Resources manager met with LIMCO Consulting PTY (LTD) to engage on the available learnership opportunities in a quest to provide skills development amongst the youth within the municipal vicinity.
Inter-Provincial Debates
The Youth Development office in conjunction with the Department of Education (Delmas circuit), Debates Committee hosted the said project on Wednesday, 31st July 2013, 10h00 at Sundra High School. Approximately eleven (11) high schools with grade 10 & 11 learners took part in the festival and more than 100 people attended the event including District officials from department of education, learners and parents.
Youth Expo
The Youth Development Office in partnership with Eskom, Vitrovien and Department of Education (Regional office) hosted the aforementioned expo on Saturday, 20th April 2013 from 09h00 at Botleng Sports Centre. The said programme is in line with the 2012/13 IDP and Youth Development SDBIP document respectively.
Youth Camp
The Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation (DCSR) in partnership with Love Life, National Youth Development Agency and local municipalities within the province hosted the afore-mentioned youth camp on the 22nd – 28th September 2013 at Pine lake Inn, Nelspruit.
SMME and Co-Operatives
The LED, Youth and Transversal offices in partnership with Standard Bank hosted the SMME and Co-operatives skills workshop which is in line with the IDP link 6, SDBIP Ref number: 6.2.2 and calendar of events.
Skills Development programme
The Youth Development office hosted the two complimentary programmes, as from the 24th – 28th June 2013. The said programmes were held at Othandweni and Rietkul primary schools, respectively.
